Thinkpad R61 and getting R&R to work after upgrading Hard Disk

Finally, got the Rescue & Recovery program to build me a recovery startup disk! I needed to download the exe that creates the ThinkVantage Boot Manager repair utility and run the disk. I also had to uninstall the most recent version of R&R and drop back to the one that comes with the machine (4.0?). I can’t do a full backup to my IEEE 1394 WD MyBook 1TB HDD as it crashes on “br_funcs”…wonder if it will work on USB? When will IBM/Lenovo improve the Intel Q965 graphics driver for XP?

Programming PIC16F877 in PLCC case

I have built a temporary PLCC programmer for the 16F877. The commercial adaptor had a short circuit on the power line. My version has power, ground and the programming lines only.

Tiny GPS!

Futurlec have a really neat little GPS module for microcontrollers! Could be good for myCybot…if I ever get round to getting the Arduino motor controller going! Some pix…

WordPress on Ubuntu 7.10 Server

After some stuffing around trying to get the wordpress pkg installed on Bungalow for the Gerb to have a local blog engine, I have decide to do a remote (from here, that is)  one at wordpress.com.  I found several  posts  via Google that purported to tell  you how it is  done, but to no avail. Wonder why Ubuntu elected not to use WordPress install default locations??
